Our Story

In 20 years we have come along way, time flies when you are doing the thing you love.

In 1989 two brothers found a lake in rural Leicestershire to pursue their passion of jetski-ing. Fred Exon had been racing stand up Kawasaki Jetskis since 1986, but was bitten by the bug in the late 70's while on holiday in Florida.

In 1990 Six Hills Jetski centre was formed on a weekend basis with Fred and brother Paul, keeping their full-time business as Knitwear manufacturers.  The weekends became so busy with the hire operation that the hire fleet of Kawasaki 440 stand up jetskis grew from 4 to 16 very quickly.  Even with such a large fleet of hire jetski's a four hour wait to hire a jet ski was a regular occurance.

By the end of 1990 Six Hills Jetski Centre went from strength to strength and became of full-time business with the introduction of a Kawasaki dealership and a purpose built club house/shop which included a workshop, cafeteria, changing rooms and a fully stocked showroom, the family has never looked back.

The move from a static caravan to the new centre gave Fred and Paul the opportunity to concentrate on sales, servicing and continue the very successful hire operation.

By 1994 the business was so successful an extension was added to the showroom, workshop and offices, it also saw the introduction of Yamaha Waverunners.

In 1997 Six Hills was awarded with the Yamaha customer care award of excellence.

By 2000 Six Hills Jetski Centre became a sole dealership for Yamaha Waverunners and a further extension to the showroom saw every new model available on show.  During the height of the season it is possible to see at least 30 new Waverunners in the showroom at one time along with the best selection of accessories, parts and water sports clothing.

Year 2000 was a very exciting year, after winning a trip to the yamaha manufacturing plant in Japan and being presented with the Yamaha Sincere Appreciation Award, we were flown out to Curacao to see the launch and photo shoot of the new Waverunner line up.

In 2003 Six Hills was appointed as an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) training centre for Personal Watercraft, Paul Exon is the  dedicated Instructor and holds one day courses on a regular basis.

Over the last 9 years Six Hills has scored high in the Yamaha Customer Satisfaction questionnaire, and for several years including 2009 we have managed to achieve the highest scores in the country.
